Manic Boy 03:52
Well my housemate went and left me, and moved back to her home town. She said that I didn't wanna leave and I never meant to let you down. So I moved up to the city, and got myself a band new joint. But the place is kinda small, I can vacuum it from one powerpoint. And I thought I'd grow a beard and I'd start wearing thongs with my jeans. And I'd act all aloof and do everything ironically. And I wrote a little song, and sent it over to my local DJ. He said don't quit your day job 'cause that ain't the kinda shit that we play. I spell M for man. Manic Boy. Now I'm a mean procrastinator, got my Doctor's in wasting time. I feed the pig the day before the market, leave the washing hanging on the line. But I gotta get it done, before I need a walking cane. But you know that time ain't on my side when they keep raising the pension age. And now that all the Baby Boomers wanna go out with a bang. They're tightening all of our belts when their flares and long hair used to hang. And they tell me that I gotta count my cash, and save it for a rainy day. Well you know that I'm shit out of sandbags and I'm struggling to keep the deluge at bay. I spell M for man. Manic Boy. Now I'm all out of love and my heart lies in pieces on the floor. So my girlfriends put me on Tinder, slapped my ass and kicked me out the door. But I'm a romantic guy, so much so I think I might be ill. And I ain't looking for just anybody's, arms or bed to fill. So now I'm talking about four on the floor, any I ain't messing round. I tell myself just to keep it simple stupid but her kiss makes my head and heart pound. So now the wrong and the right, all the sorrow and the joy. Paints up a pretty little picture of the silly old Manic Boy. I spell M for man. Manic Boy. I spell M for man. Manic Boy. I spell M for man. Manic Boy.

Lucky Star 03:28
I staked my claim upon the mountain, spent my whole life digging for gold. Now I ain't got no money, but I sure gotta lot of holes. I ain't looking for trouble, trouble always finds me. Maybe I'm a little crazy, or just a little unlucky. I'm searching for the end of the rainbow, looking for that golden pot. But it seems that everywhere that I am, is everywhere that it is not. People try to tell me, good things come to those that wait. But time it never stops running, and a wise man doesn't hesitate. So my fields are laying fallow, something I done, something I did? How am I gonna provide for my wife and for my kids? I threw a coin into the fountain, made a wish upon a lucky star. Made a prayer to baby Jesus, got an old lady to read my cards. I think about the future, I worry too much about my past. When are the bad times coming, how long will the good times last? So I'm standing up on the gallows, this time I'm maybe done for good. Where's my knight in shining armour, my Batman or my Robin...hood. I laid the first stone of the foundation, I lit the candles up ontop of the cake. I've reaped all my rewards, I've paid dearly for all my mistakes. I ain't looking for trouble, trouble always finds me. Maybe I'm a little crazy, or just a little unlucky.

All is quiet on the western front. But don't lay down your guns, 'cause the war ain't won. Just do the things you know you ought to, and don't you touch the farmer's pretty daughter. I try to think with my head, and not with my heart. But right about now I can't seem to tell them apart. But I'll be leading the lambs to slaughter, if I touch the farmer's pretty daughter. Sweet Helen of Troy, I want to steal you away. But I kinda got a feeling, of what your daddy might say. But I'll still move hell and high water to get a kiss from the farmer's pretty daughter. Oh, see the mirror upon the beam. Yeah, my reflection in the stream. Tells me do the things you know you ought to , and don't you touch the farmer's pretty daughter. Oh, see it before me in a dream. I scatter my ashes in the stream. Do the things you know you ought to, and don't you touch the farmer's pretty daughter. Something on the ground, when she passes me. She might be wondering why I can't look her in the eye. Ain't this the sweetest torture, being in love with the farmer's pretty daughter. Ain't this the sweetest torture.

I'll pull any sword from the stone. Fight any dog for your bone. I'll lay the fruit upon the table. And follow you from town to town. But what I won't do darling, is ever let you down. I'll clear the dirty dusty track. You know I'll always have your back. I'll pull you down from the clouds. And pull you up when you could drown. But what I won't do darling, is ever let you down. See it written in my face. In the lines and in my eyes. Not hiding behind no veils of lace. I'll be the lover in your arms, Your soldier when war comes. I'll sell my treasured possessions. To buy you pearls and silken gowns. But what I won't do darling, is ever let you down. I'll keep watch while you're sleeping. Dry your eyes when you are weeping. Make you the daughter of a queen. Give you a wand and silver crow. But what I won't do darling, is ever let you down. What I won't do darling, is ever let you down.

You gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. You gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. If your world revolves around money, money make your world go round. You still gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. You gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. Gotta be in the right frame of mind if you wanna pick it up. Search in every ocean, every single sea. Every bit of land in every country. You still gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. You gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. Gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. If you're preaching in the churches or sitting in the pews, or working on the corner of a lonely avenue. You still gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. We got 7 billion equations, 6 degrees of separation. Oh it can be so hard, knowing how to play my cards. Well I leave no stone unturned, and every lesson learned. You gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. We got 7 billion equations, 6 degrees of separation. Oh it can be so hard, knowing how to play my cards. Well I leave no stone unturned, and every lesson learned. You gotta be in the right place at the right time to get love. Gotta be in the right frame of mind if you wanna pick it up. When the wisemen run out of ideas. And the strong ones are reduced to tears. What have we learned after all these yeas? A change will always come. When the empire starts to crumble and fall. And that big white flag hangs above the wall. What have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. Yeah, what have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. When the winter's been going just a little too long, and it seems like years since we've seen the sun. The flowers will bloom on the first of spring, and the butterfly will spread it's new found wings. When the jailbird starts to show remorse. And swears his life is on a different course. What have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. When Old Mother Earth starts to grumble and moan. 'Bout how she ain't treated like home sweet home. What have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. When the last shot misses from a hunters gun. Ain't it kinda funny when he turns and runs. What have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. When the wells are dry just like the rivers and plains, and the whole darn world starts to look the same. Hang in there 'cause a change will always come. And pretty darn soon we'll be singing in the rain. When the peasant sleeps in a four point bed. And the King has no place to lay his severed head. What have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. What have we learned after all these years? A change will always come. Yeah, what have we learned after all these years? A change will always come.

Gravy Train 04:40
I held your hand, when you went to walk across the street. And I was your crutch, the you were ready to leave your seat. And I paid your rent, when you did not have a cent to your name. And did you know I let you win, in every single game that we played. But now. I'm gonna take, everything I want when i leave here. And I'm gonna leave you, with everything I don't need, everything I don't need. Well your boomerang won't come back, when no-one is around to show you how to throw it. And you're down a one way track, but it'll be at the end when you know it. I can't get no satisfaction, deep down in my soul. And all I can get is just a fraction, of a whole. I'm gonna take, everything I want when i leave here. And I'm gonna leave you, with everything I don't need, everything I don't need. Who's gonna drive this gravy train when I'm gone. Who'll keep you dry in the driving rain when I'm gone. Well I lit the light of day, held the wolves at bay. But I can't hold the tide much longer, baby. You know it's only rock 'n' roll, and we're moving to and fro. But it's only a matter of time. Who's gonna drive this gravy train when I'm gone. Who'll keep you dry in the driving rain when I'm gone. Who's gonna drive this gravy train when I'm gone. Who'll keep you dry in the driving rain when I'm gone. Who's gonna drive this gravy train when I'm gone. Who'll keep you dry in the driving rain when I'm gone. Who's gonna drive this gravy train when I'm gone. Who'll keep you dry in the driving rain when I'm gone.

Ol' Nolene 03:06
I should of listened to Ol' Nolene. You know she's always got plenty to say. She told me "you'd better tie up your steed, or somebody's gonna take him away." I said that "I ain't old enough yet, to have lost my faith in humanity." She said "well somebody might have a hungry mouth they gotta feed." I should of listened to Ol' Nolene. You know she's always got plenty to say. She told me "you'd better listen to your heart, don't let your mind get in the way." I said that "I'm a thinker then a doer, I cross the ts and I split the hairs." She said "well while you been thinking the time has passed and left you standing there." I should of listened to Ol' Nolene. You know she's always got plenty to say. She told me "don't leave things to the last minute. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day." I said that "I got this under control." As I poured myself another wine. She said "well don't come crying when you realise you're out of time." I should of listened to Ol' Nolene. How far can it bend before it finally breaks. She told "give what you wan't returned." But advice is easier to gove than take. Oh those words you don't wanna hear. I should of listened to Ol' Nolene. You know she's always got plenty to say. She told "you better build your house of bricks, or someday it's gonna blow away." I said that "I can weather any storm, like I've done so many times before." She said "well don't cry wolf when your world lies in pieces on the floor. Don't cry wolf when your world lies in pieces on the floor. Don't cry wolf when your world lies in pieces on the floor."

Pick A Point 02:56
Pick a point, on the shore. So I may find, where I was once before. Make a stand, against it all. As I'm lined, up against the wall. Pick a point, of no return. As I watch, those letters burn. Make a mark, upon my skin. So I may know, where I once have been. My shining armour, shone no light. I had no bark, where was my bite? Pick a point, which to return. Once we find, the truth can hurt. Pick a point, upon the land. From which to stage my final stand. Calmer water. Chaos and order. That feeing of it slipping through your hands. For a second, it was heaven. Pick a point, from which to see. What's wrong or right, which side to believe. Pick a point, of no return. As I watch my ladder burn. Make a stand, against it all. As I'm lined up, against the wall. Pick a point, from which to learn. Once we find, the truth can hurt. Pick a point, upon the shore. So I may find, where I was once before.

She says that she loves my company. But it's better that we're part. Well baby, when you turn to leave. Please take your brows from my heart. She tells me that she says what she don't mean. Well how am I supposed to know. If there's something between the lines that I should read. Or should I just let you go. Take my hand, draw a line in the sand. There ain't a war to be won, holster your gun. Don't try to fly, too close to the sun. Ask yourself darling, what is it that want? What is it that I want? Everyone's got weaknesses. Oh I know that got mine. How easy that I cut and bleed. I can tell you darling, and I promise you over time. That I won't aim my arrows at your heel. Maybe the rugged track, maybe the perfect storm. I could be the rags upon your back, or the best dress you've ever worn. I can tell you honey, that I'm willing to give it a shot. But you say everything that you've given me, is everything that you've got. Take my hand, draw a line in the sand. There ain't a war to be won, I holster my gun. I won't try to fly, too close to the sun. I ask myself darling, what is it that I want? What is it that I want? What is it that I want? What is it that I want? (Lay your cards on the table, facing up if want. You can trust me if your able but I understand it if you don't).

about

Doc Halibut Melbourne, Australia

Doc Halibut’s music exhibits an authentic heart and youthful ferocity that makes them a joy for the ears and eyes. Whilst ultimately attempting to defy stylistic limitations, but incorporating elements of blues-rock, the Tulsa sound, soul and pop, their music is one of revivalism, or ‘regressive rock’ as the band often quips. Whatever it is, it’s always a good time. ... more
